Museum of the 20th century

The Kulturforum is a very iconic and historical place in Berlin, where the Philharmonie of Hans Sharoun and Mies van der Rohe’s Neue Nationalgalerie stand quietly next to each other. The design of the new museum addition aims at knitting together the diverse pieces of urban history, thus creating a vivid urban fabric as well as a permeable public building.

A clear structure and the calm design let the visitors discover the unique collection of the Berlin Museum of the 20th Century.
The design reached the second phase of this open international competition.
Project in cooperation with Architect Dipl.-Ing. Fabian Scholz
